Tenergy 05 fx review Timo Boll ZLF
My impressions are mixed and changing. The rubber does suit this blade also, possibly better but I am not sold on the idea. I mean the rubbers seem to fit this blade better but the overall effect of this combination doesn't really feel like I am playing with Tenergy any more.
Serves
I started to adjust by the last couple of hours, building more confidence in digging deep and applying full action. The sidespin and kick beats the orignal 05 for serves which just go over the base line, but on stability of short backspin the softness and the bounciness is a pain in butt.
Amazing after one day that I could change my feelings so much. In a nut shell what is the main thing I don't like about 05 fx?
STABILITY
I felt the softer bouncier nature, more dynamic, as you hit harder into the rubber the parabola becomes a much straighter line and blocking etc just all felt less stable.
It is early still I will write more tomorrow. But my impressions is that this rubber is going in the Hexer direction I didn't really like.

Throw angle of 05 fx
The first thing I have to talk about is the throw angle because although I played pretty well overall with some great shots, The lower throw angle and the more bouncy nature of this rubber meant I had a smaller window to land my shots. The much lower throw angle means I can't do my side spins as much. I actually cursed a million times because of how many times I looped right into the net. Tenergy 05 fx is reminding me of Hexer everyday.Side spin looping with 05 fx
My main reason I love tenergy is because of the super high throw angle which allows sidespin looping. Once you drop to a low throw angle it is quite hard to side spin as you will hit the net first. Tenergy 05 fx does not feel good at sidespin looping balls lower than the net, which the original tenergy totally beats it hands down. Side spin flicking serves near the net also felt much harder as it was hard to lift the ball.05 fx on forehand looping bottoming out
although I played for almost 6 hours and as I kept playing I got more used to the throw angle and possible less spin, I never really felt happy with the softness especially on my forehand. On the backhand I seemed ok with it, but on the fh I felt like I was hitting into the blade too early sometimes.Which blade to use with tenergy 05 fx?
After using it with the TBS yesterday and the Boll ZLF today I felt I wanted it be on an even softer blade. I just felt the bottoming out meant I wanted a blade that the ball could dig into even more to get the dwell I felt I was starting to lack.Serves
