table tennis review

review

More subjective, opinionated review or personal feelings about a table tennis item.

Table Tennis Tables

Tenergy Club has been receiving quite a few "ask the expert" questions in our FAQ section related to the buying a table tennis table.  I thought instead of creating yet another FAQ, to just post a full web page post that people can reply to.
There are many things to consider before buying table tennis tables.

What else to say about the pips and sponge of tenergy 05 vs butterfly's new Spin Art? Spin art is less dense with its pips. This makes it play softer although the sponge is harder.
This picture comes from "silver" also know by his real name: Dan - who up keeps the most comprehensive table tennis database about rubber density on the internet.

butterfly tenergy 64 rubbers

T64 is known as the "speed effect" rubber.

Tenergy 64's speed

With the speed rating by butterfly at 13.5, it is only 0.5 slower than the fastest rubber Bryce Speed 14. Everyone says its very dynamic in how quick it works in a number of broader gears.  Some even defy Butterfly the company and say it is faster than Bryce Speed.  It has that butterfly punch feeling even though it leans a touch more toward the loop side.

Tenergy 05

A fresh look at Tenergy 05 confusion?

So Tenergy 05 Admin or let's call him Boz as more than half the table tennis players do, asked me recently to write a fresh review about tenergy 05 specifically.  I really wondered exactly what I can say about tenergy 05 that hasn't already been said.  Especially because he said he wanted to create a new very clear category that doesn't focus on all the tenergy family.  He said it must be very, veryclear: "could you write a clear new categorical heading that will specifically target tenergy 05 and not the other spring sponge versions out by Butterfly?"

ishlion review

I have stopped using my Butterfly Ishlion blade after a couple of years as my choice blade, for no real reason than I believe it a bit too expensive for me to continue to use and I want a little less speed and spin than it offers.

timo boll alc vs timo boll spirit vs iolite with tenergy 05

I was recently asked to review the timo boll alc and timo boll spirit against the iolite for a guy using iolite with tenergy 05 who is looking for a blade thats fairly similar in speed but can generate more spin.

IPONG robot review

i actually did this and lost it previously and then re did the whole thing again so i have no idea what happened!       fortunately i also sent it to pink and can now copy and paste so here it is

killerspin fortissimo

I (Boz) just got some Killerspin Fortissimo Table Tennis Rubber for my backhand from Megaspin.net.
I will be doing an ongoing review over time.  I will also be reacting to my friend and "foe" Greg Lett's who has also reviewed this rubber in depth.  We both have settled on using Butterfly's Timo Boll Spirit blade and we both compare Killerspin Fortissimo to Tenergy 05.  So same products exactly with very different views, possibly and probably.

Which is the best table tennis robot deal?

A few people have been talking about buying a table tennis robot to improve their table tennis game.  I have used for over 5 years a Butterfly Amicus 3000.  It improved my game enormously and still gives a very valuable way to train, when I couldn't be bothered leaving the house or don't have the time to go into the club and get a coach or partner.  It is an excellent robot, although I am not sure if it is the best table tennis robot deal on the market today any more.

Butterfly Spin Art

Now Butterfly Spin Art has been released and there have been many first hand reviews.  It is pretty much as everyone was predicting.  But there are some new interesting differences worth adding about Spin Art.
